Jodee Pereira
I am a Lecturer/Coordinator in the Beauty Therapy section of the Visage Training Centre for Health & Lifestyle at Challenger Tafe.
I look after the Pre-apprentice Programs including Vet for schools and Fee for Service (Short Courses) in Visage.

Moving into my 5th year at Challenger I have learnt many exciting things about e learning and online web technologies.
This project is of great interest to me because I deliver to the SAL (Student Apprenticeship Link) program, so the outcome of the PDA databse will be great to use in industry and the classroom. This project has also started to give me more skills in project processes, PDA's, assessment tools and working closely with project members.
Look forward to the end result.

Workshop 1 - Reflection

The day was good although I feel I have the basic knowledge and want to progress quicker. Clarifying the information for the assessment tool for the database would be good, and quickly putting this into the specs required for the database is a better starting point for early feedback.
My question from workshop 1 was, why is so much time being spent on such a simple database/assessment? My Answer/thoughts: I know it is PD and that I will learn to acknowledge the process and learn from each step no matter how confidant I am with the technology. This will then benefit the training I have for another project.

Workshop 2 - Reflection

After moving through the initial basic PDA functions I was quite excited to move along further and make a movie and produce a movie file by editing, adding text/headings etc. Then to be able to sync to the PDA and download the movie. From the PDA we could access the Braiding File. This is so exciting to take back to the classroom. Students will benefit from having access to this in the classroom immensly.
Looking forward to compiling others and using it in the SAL program. Sue Waters is amazing and has so much knowledge to share.
